Your Guest House host family
did much of the work renovating our home, and building the new additions of
the Guest House B&B and The Bach. We survived five years of hard work
and wanted to share some of it with you. Our hats are off to our
builder, Scott Sutherland of Buildtech, and his very able assistants:
Simon, Sam, and Brad. Scott would leave a long list of tasks for Brad
to do every weekend and after work, which saved us a lot of money.
Diana Craig and Sue designed the gorgeous interior of the B&B. Artwork
is by Julie Heffernan. Sue did most of the interior and exterior
painting, and was helped by Nu'u, Paul, and the latecoming painter
extraordinaire, Leon. Nu'u gets the award for moving the most amount
of dirt the farthest, by hand, and for the fiercest competitor at foosball.
All the dirt moving was manual--no digger would fit onsite, and was shifted
in chutes, buckets and wheelbarrows down lots of stairs and a long way
around the corner. A big thanks goes to all our neighbours who had to
endure the noise and mess and more than 50 skips of dirt on the footpath
over the years.
We love the result of such a fantastic team effort, and we hope you do too!
